Part of the training of 'Art for Therapeutic Processes'
What?
‘Art’ is a very accepted medium as a ‘cultivating’ element in our culture. It is educating, transforming and healing people in there deepest layers. The effect of ‘working with art’ goes far beyond the psychological energy. Creative processes find there origins in our life energy, the force that keeps us alive and that connects the soul with the body. The life energy is the forgotten energy that keeps us healthily. In working with art it becomes reactivated. That’s why it is so enlivening to do it. Working with art keeps you young. It makes the human being creative, to a creator.
The aim of the training is to use the power of ‘art’ and the forces of ‘a creative process’ to widen the own healing or educational profession. You can also use the training to develop own artistic skills and the creative potential. It will deepen your profession and will give you a lot of new tools and possibilities.
In the training we will work with drawing, painting, modelling, sculpting in different materials. We will work on:
- technical aspects and different materials in working with visual art
- study the language of art with all its elements and polarities
- art as a medium for self expression and self knowledge
- the artistic process, art in education
- art and healing, exercises for resistances and illnesses
- observation, how to read art works
How?
The training is seen as an ‘adult learning process’ that is based on new learning principles developed by the NALM. The learning process is seen as a creative process itself. Central in the training stands the free initiative of each participant that will have to develop from a student to a researcher or a free artistic person. We will go beyond classic methods of adult education with a lot of space for participation.
Methods we will work with are:
- introductions and conversations on backgrounds on art and creative processes
- different techniques for observation and judgement
- individual and group processes in working with different visual art techniques
- methods for self development
It will be expected from the participants to work at home. At the end a participation certificate will be given. It is possible to organise following up courses after the training. The training is not seen as a full art therapy training but an extension for other professions.
